Darren Criss takes on Broadway

1:48 AM

After much speculation, they've just officially announced that Darren Criss of "A Very Potter Musical" and "Glee" fame will be taking over the lead role in "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying" by early 2012.

The Huffington Post reports that Darren will be replacing Daniel Radcliffe for a limited 3-week stint starting on January 3 after the British star plays out his final "How to Succeed" performance on January 1.

"Daniel gives an extraordinary performance eight times a week and we knew finding someone to fill his shoes would be nearly impossible. When we learned of Darren's dream of performing on Broadway we knew we had found our Finch but presumed his "Glee" schedule would eliminate any chance to work with him," said director/choreographer Rob Ashford.

We - Gleeks and Potterheads alike - are all currently in an emotional roller coaster right now. Couldn't help but revel in my proud mama feelings and everything that comes along with it. But here's me wishing Darren the best of luck. Break a leg, Darren Freaking Criss!

Tickets for the run are already on sale.
